36. weekend to-do's

  1. celebrate sowa. the sowa open market is one of the best reasons to head out and enjoy the warming weather. i always have such a great time scoping out new vendors, people-watching and snacking on something delicious from one of the many food trucks. our friends from boston general store will be setting up shop every weekend and i'm excited to check out the new merchandise they've brought in.
  2. get some headspace. starting a mindfulness practice can be daunting at first. i've found that some quiet time with this app gives me everything i need to find my daily piece of peace.
  3. stop and smell the flowers. i'm packing up my picnic blanket and heading to jp for the arnold arboretum's annual lilac sunday. this boston tradition provides an idyllic backdrop for a spring afternoon.

  1. get out and get fresh air! two new bike trails have opened in lexington as of this spring and now that the weather is cooperating, i can't wait to try them out. the "d" shaped trail runs through lexington's community farm and everything is bursting with that bright green spring color.
  2. give my succulent a home. i purchased the sweetest succulent from the boston general store not long ago and it desperately needs a fun and unique pot. i've been eyeing the wave vessel from one of my favorite local artisans, porcelain and stone. everything they produce is so artfully made and i love supporting a local business.
  3. brunch it up. the sprouted kitchen is one of my favorite cook books out there. the photography is stunning and the recipes are simple, healthy creations that make me look like a better chef than i am. ranchero breakfast tacos anyone??
